J. REX LEMERT

BIOGRAPHY

J. Rex Lemert, the senior partner at Lemert, Holder & Ohm, served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1969. Operational assignments included U.S. Military Assistance Command, Vietnam (MACV) and serving as an intelligence advisor from 1968 – 1969.

Rex obtained his Associate's in Arts Degree from New Mexico Military Institute, his Bachelor's in Business Administration from the University of Texas, and his Master's in Professional Accounting from West Texas A&M University.

 

Rex is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, National Cattlemen’s Association, and the Texas Cattle Feeders Association.

 

Rex also serves as Campaign Co-Chair and Treasurer for the Texas Panhandle War Memorial. The objective of the Center is to honor and remember the sacrifices our veterans have made for our country and to keep history alive by providing a generational learning environment through state-of-the-art multi-media informational techniques.

Previously, Rex served on the Texas Senate Academy Selection Nomination Board, as President of the Board of Trustees for the Amarillo Museum of Art, as Deacon and Finance Committee Member for First Presbyterian Church of Amarillo, as a Member of the Tax Committee of the Texas Cattle Feeders Association,

as Co-Chair of the Amarillo Symphony Ball, as a Member of the Amarillo Area Foundation Professional Advisors Council, and as President of Gunstream Land Corporation.

 

He also serves as President of Millie Corp., a farm and ranch operation in southwest Kansas and southeast Colorado and is managing partner of B. H. Lemert & Sons, located in Liberal, Kansas.

 

Rex is married to Mary Nell Lemert and they have two children and five grandchildren.
